Rite Premium Standard Bobbin
Rite Premium Standard Bobbin
Rite's Standard Bobbin works for just about any fly pattern you may want to tie.
From small midges up through bigger saltwater flies, the Standard does it all. With a premium-quality ceramic tube, it's also going to be very durable. And of course, it wouldn't be a Rite Bobbin without the one-of-a-kind brass tension adjuster, allowing you to have more control as you tie. This is a must have for any serious tier.
Features:
- Our ultra-versatile and most popular fly tying bobbin
- Ceramic Thread Tube
- Small Diameter Barrel
- Removable Vinyl Grip
- Solid Brass Arm
- "Click" Drag Adjustment
- 1-9 ounces of thread tension
How to used your new Rite Bobbin:
- Spin the gold, cross-shaped tension adjuster counter-clockwise, until it comes off
- Remove the black tension wheel
- Slip the spool of thread on the exposed shaft, and insert one washer on each side if you prefer extra smoothness
- Replace the black wheel and gold tension adjuster, then spin the gold adjuster clockwise until you feel it begin to "click"
- Thread the bobbin normally
- Rotate the gold tension adjuster clockwise for more tension and counter-clockwise for less. Each "click" makes an approximate, one-ounce change in tension
- For temporary, extra tension, simply squeeze the bobbin or use a finger on the thread as a brake
